Privacy notice

Effective September 13, 2026

This notice explains the limited information used by the Linkborne website and private beta access system. Linkborne is currently offered only to invited testers.

Information used for beta access

When an administrator creates a beta code, the system stores a tester label, the code's expiration, redemption limits, and license duration. The access code itself is stored only as a protected hash. When a tester redeems a code, the system records redemption and download status.

Device activation

When device activation is enabled in a Linkborne build, the app provides an installation-specific device identifier. The website stores only a protected hash of that identifier and uses it to limit a license to the first activated installation. Linkborne does not use that identifier for advertising.

For Windows activation, the app creates an installation key pair and proves possession of its private key. The service stores a hash of the public key, activation and expiry times, and short-lived verification challenges. The installation private key stays on the computer. Signed Windows licenses can be checked offline for their full issued term.

App updates and licence extensions

When an app checks for updates using its existing licence credentials, the service keeps its most recently reported app version, build number, and report time, associated with the beta licence. The owner can see this report to support testers. It does not establish what is currently installed or whether the app is online.

The service also keeps update-link creation, expiry, claim and download-request history, and any owner confirmation that a link was shared. Download requests do not prove a completed download or installation. If the owner extends a licence, the service records its old and new expiry, extension time, and the owner's reason. These records are private to the authenticated owner console and retained with beta access records for the purposes described below.

Beta feedback and diagnostic logs

Approved testers may submit a category, app version, device and connection details, a written report, reproduction steps, and an optional diagnostic log. The report is associated with the administrator's tester label for the beta invitation. The readable beta code is not stored with the report.

Optional logs are stored in private Cloudflare object storage and are available only through the authenticated owner console. Testers must review logs before upload and remove passwords, encryption keys, radio plans or fills, license tokens, private addresses, and unnecessary personal information.

Security and service logs

Cloudflare may process ordinary network and security information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as IP addresses, request metadata, and abuse signals. Linkborne also creates short-lived, protected rate-limit records to reduce automated code guessing.

Cookies and advertising

The Linkborne website does not use advertising cookies or third-party marketing trackers. A temporary download link may be kept in the current browser tab so a tester can resume the download before the link expires.

Retention and control

Beta access records, feedback, and diagnostic logs are kept while needed to administer the test, improve the product, protect the software, and document license status. An administrator may revoke a code and its related license. To request review or removal of information associated with your beta invitation, contact support@linkborne.com and include your feedback reference if available.

Changes

This notice may be updated as Linkborne adds account, payment, or commercial licensing features. A revised effective date will be posted on this page.

Licensing inquiries

If you email info@linkborne.com, the contact details and information you choose to send are used to respond to your inquiry and discuss evaluation or licensing needs. Please do not include sensitive radio plans, passwords, or encryption keys.
